It’s almost here — one of the biggest events of the year. We’re heading to Vegas for AWS re:Invent before we’ve even finished our Thanksgiving leftovers. But that is okay, because we are so excited for this year’s conference.

Avere, along with 1,788 other companies, will be setting up booths this weekend and inviting the more than 103,119 visitors to check out the massive exhibit floor at some point during the weeklong National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) event next week in Las Vegas, Nevada.
We’re starting 2016 with a bang and are excited that Avere has been selected as a finalist for the Storage magazine/SearchStorage.com 2015 Products of the Year awards! Our Virtual FXT Edge Filer version 4.5 is in the running for the Enterprise Storage System Software category against tried and true tech giants and hot startups alike, and we’re very proud to have been nominated alongside them.

We see all kinds of IT pros working hard on a daily basis to make IT simply work for the millions of people who rely on systems and infrastructure. To us, these people are superheros, quietly working behind the scenes saving the day with little expectation of applause or adoration.
While many people think that making movies sounds glamorous and entirely different from how they spend their days, when it comes to those keeping infrastructure humming, you likely face the same challenges. Yes, these systems engineers are likely to be a few degrees closer to Kevin Bacon and they probably get some fun perks that make them quite interesting at dinner parties, but when it comes down to it, you have more in common than you think.
I'm happy to share another great story from an Avere customer using FXT Edge filers to create amazing special effects. Method Studios, an award-winning visual effects group with locations in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Chicago, New York, Detroit, Atlanta, London, Sydney, and Mebourne, puts its artists in the lead to create high-quality feature and commercial films, television, games, and motion-graphics.
I'm happy to share yet another success story from an Avere customer, Deluxe Media Acton. Enjoy!

We’re smiling at our desks today. Avere Systems has been named a Pittsburgh Top Work Place in 2014. Congratulations to all the companies named to the list.
When I asked my co-workers why they liked working at Avere, the responses reflect the environment revealing a mix of intellectualism and humor. Smart people, serious about their contribution and the technology but having a good time in the process of doing business. This really is a great place to work – how can we just be #2 in our category?
I am delighted to share our first customer case study from France. In the country that brings the world many delightful things, we add an animation force that rivals the best. In this case study, the Illumination Mac Guff team talks about using Avere to not only improve production, but reduce costs and keep a vendor-neutral storage strategy in place moving forward.
Our latest case study is out and this one was especially fun to produce, in part because Greg was so pleased with our solution. He told me a story of watching his colleagues break for lunch and while they were gone, he started up his new Avere cluster. Upon their return, all were floored at the difference in rendering speeds - he became their hero over the lunch hour. Read more about Greg and the ToonBox experience and then be sure to add The Nut Job to your watch list. It's available on iTunes and hits Netflix and Amazon this month.
